Long-Eared Myotis
Nocturnal pest control, at your service! The long-eared myotis uses its incredibly long ears to detect tiny insects, making them excellent night-time hunters. Like many bats, they use echolocation to send out high-frequency sounds while listening for echoes, and using that info to track down food—pretty much like an aerial GPS system! They live in small colonies, in forests, caves, or abandoned buildings, where they settle into cracks, crevices, and even hollow trees.
